Contract magic is, in effect, a force from [[Other dimensions|another dimension]] with access to a large amount of energy. A group that would become the first Admins and Headmaster attempted to gain use of this energy through a book, and bind it to preserving stories. Their signatures in the book became the first contracts, and allowed the magic access to our dimension through the book and any who signed it.
